Mdm Lim Kwee Hua (林季华)

Mdm Lim Kwee Hua has more than 35 years of teaching experience. She is currently a Principal Master Teacher at the Academy of Singapore Teachers, Ministry of Education. Her main role is to provide training, consultancy and guidance on teaching practices to teachers. Mdm Lim is also a member of the Reading Group under the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning. As a Reading Group member, Mdm Lim has been actively promoting school reading programmes since 2007. Mdm Lim has shared with parents and grandparents on parent-child reading and grandparent-child reading at various platforms. In addition, Mdm Lim has been sharing the joy of reading with children at public libraries since 2013.
林季华从事教育工作超过35年,目前是新加坡教师学院首席特级教师。她的主要工作是教师培训、提供咨询、引导教师进行课堂教学实践等等。自2007年起,林女士积极推广校园阅读,目前是推广华文学习委员会阅读组委员。林女士也在不同的平台与家长、祖父母分享亲子共读、祖孙共读的技巧。此外,自2013年起,林女士也定期到图书馆为孩子讲故事、进行导读,和孩子们一起共享阅读的乐趣。

Parent-child reading refers to parents reading together with their children. Reading competency mostly begins during early childhood. Early stage education should focus on developing an interest in reading and good reading habits early. However, neither reading nor the formation of good habits is easy. Pre-school children need adult company for reading. Such parent-child reading not only helps to form good reading habits but also strengthens the relationship between parent and child. The speaker, Mdm Lim Kwee Hua, will share how to select suitable reading materials, examples of post-reading activities and demonstrate parent-child reading.
亲子共读是指家长与孩子一起阅读。阅读能力的发展主要从幼儿时期的早期阅读教育开始。早期教育应着重培养儿童的阅读兴趣,养成良好的阅读习惯。但是,阅读不是一个容易的过程,习惯更不容易培养。对于幼儿来说,他们无法独立阅读,需要大人的陪伴。亲子共读不仅可以培养孩子良好的阅读习惯,也能促进家长与孩子之间的感情。主讲者林女士将与家长分享如何选择适当的读物,示范亲子共读的方法以及如何进行阅读后的活动。
