Dr Sun Baoqi (孙宝琦博士)

Dr Sun Baoqi received her PhD from National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Her research encompasses socio-cultural-cognitive and policy perspectives on language learning with a particular focus on children’s bilingual education and bi-literacy development. She is currently working as a research scientist at the Centre for Research in Child Development (CRCD), NIE.
孙宝琦，新加坡南洋理工大学国立教育学院教育学硕士、博士。孙博士目前任职于国立教育学院儿童发展研究中心(CRCD)，主要研究领域为双语早期阅读及双语教学。
When is a good time to start bilingual reading? How do we select suitable English and Chinese books for children and read with them? Drawing on recent bilingual research findings and practices, Dr Sun will share the importance of bilingual reading, some practical tips on how to choose books for children and how to read with them. With a profound understanding of the linguistic features of English and Chinese, Dr Sun will also provide some useful learning strategies.
