Dr S P Jeyarajadas Pandian has been a Tamil Language (TL) teacher for 40 years. He is currently a Principal Master Teacher at the Academy of Singapore Teachers, Ministry of Education. Dr Pandian was also a Senior Curriculum Specialist developing teaching & learning resources for the Siruvar Tamil’ textbook series and Character and Citizenship (formerly, Civics and Moral Education) for the primary level in MOE. He works closely with schools, parents and the community to promote the teaching and learning of Tamil. He uses a variety of approaches and strategies to develop interest in learning appreciation of Tamil language and culture amongst students and does so in many innovative ways. Dr Pandian was recognised with the Best Ideator Award for his contributions to TL teaching and learning in 2009. He was also conferred with the National Day Commendation Award in 2012.
முனைவர் எஸ் பி ஜெயராஜதாஸ் பாண்டியன் அவர்கள் 40 ஆண்டுகள் தமிழாசிரியராகப் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார். இவர் தற்போது கல்வி அமைச்சின் ஆசிரியர் கலைக்கழகத்தில் தமிழ்மொழிக்கான தலைமை முதன்மை ஆசிரியராகப் பணியாற்றுகிறார். முனைவர் பாண்டியன் கல்வி அமைச்சில் தொடக்கநிலைக்கான ‘சிறுவர் தமிழ்’ பாடநூலாக்கக் குழுவிலும் நற்குணம் மற்றும் குடியியலுக்கான கற்றல் கற்பித்தல் வளங்கள் உருவாக்கத்திலும் மூத்த பாடக்கலைத்திட்டச் சிறப்பாய்வாளாராகப் பணியாற்றிருக்கிறார். தமிழ்மொழி கற்றல் கற்பித்தல் மேம்பாட்டுக்காகப் பள்ளிகள், பெற்றோர், சமூகம் ஆகியரோடு முத்தரப்பு இணையாகச் செயலாற்றிவருகிறார். இவர் தமிழ்மொழி கற்றல் கற்பித்தலை மேம்படுத்தும் வகையில் பல புத்தாக்க வழிகளில் கற்றல் கற்பித்தல் அணுகுமுறைகளைப் படைப்பாக்கத்துடன் பயன்படுத்தித் தமிழ்மொழியையும் பண்பாட்டையும் மாணவர்களிடத்தில் விளக்கியுரைப்பதில் மிகுந்த அனுபவங்கொண்டவர். 2004-ஆம் ஆண்டு, இவர் கல்வி அமைச்சின் உன்னதச் சேவை விருது பெற்றுச் சிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டார். 2009-ஆம் ஆண்டின் சிறந்த கருத்துருவாக்கத்திற்கான விருதையும் பெற்றுள்ளார். ஆசிரியர் மாணவர் மேம்பாட்டுக்குப் பல வழிகளில் உதவிவரும் முனைவர் பாண்டியனுக்கு 2012-ஆம் ஆண்டில் தேசிய தினப் பாராட்டுப் பதக்கம் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
In this workshop, participants will learn various strategies and ideas on how to enthuse and engage their children to speak Tamil confidently. The speaker will share different strategies and techniques with parents, caregivers and educators to spark their interest in speaking Tamil with young children. He will also share some creative and innovative ways, such as the use of songs, stories, games and role-play, to engage young children to use Tamil spontaneously and with joy. The speaker will also provide ideas on how to infuse proper vocabulary and sentences into one’s use of Tamil. The participants will also receive information on the different resources that they can use to promote speaking Tamil at home.
இல்லங்களில் பெற்றோர் தம் பிள்ளைகளை எவ்வாறு தமிழில் உரையாட ஊக்கப்படுத்தலாம் என்பது பற்றியும் தமிழ் தொடர்பான நடவடிக்கைகளில் தம் பிள்ளைகளை ஈடுபடச்செய்வதற்குரிய பயன்மிக்க உத்திகளையும் இப்பயிலரங்கில் பேச்சாளர் பகிர்ந்துகொள்வார். பிள்ளைகள் பல்வேறு புத்தாக்க முறைகளில் தமிழை மகிழ்வுடனும் விருப்பத்துடனும் கற்றுக்கொள்ளும் வழிமுறைகளைப் பற்றிப் பேச்சாளர் கலந்துரையாடுவார். பகிர்வின்போது, குறிப்பாக, பாடல்கள், கதைகள், பாத்திரமேற்று நடித்தல், விளையாட்டுகள் முதலியவற்றின் வாயிலாகத் எவ்வாறு தமிழை அன்றாட மொழியாகப் புழங்கச் செய்யலாம் என்பது பற்றிய கருத்துகளை எடுத்துரைப்பார். தமிழ்ப் பேச்சுப் புழக்கத்தின்போது பிள்ளைகள் பயன்படுத்தவேண்டிய முறையான சொல்வளத்தையும் வாக்கிய அமைப்பையும் எவ்வாறு அன்றாட நடவடிக்கைகளின்வழி இயல்பாகப் புகட்டலாம் என்பதற்கான யோசனைகளையும் வழங்குவார். தமிழ்மொழிப் பயன்பாட்டுக்கு உதவும் வளங்கள் பற்றிய தகவல்களும் இப்பயிலரங்கில் பகிர்ந்துகொள்ளப்படும்.
