Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre, as the National Tamil Language Resource Centre, delivers the Tamil Language (TL) curriculum for students in secondary schools which do not offer TL instruction within curriculum. The centre also organises events at the national level for students in Primary, Secondary schools and JCs. Programmes are designed to engage students and provide them with experiential learning. UPTLC also conducts the National Elective Tamil Language Programme, Indian Performing Arts Programme (IPAP) and Learning Journey to the Herb Garden, Tamil Heritage Centre and the Fine Arts Centre. These activities provide rich learning experiences in an authentic Tamil environment and create greater awareness of Tamil Language, Culture and Heritage. These programmes are also infused with values for life, 21st CC and thinking skills so that students while deepening their knowledge can also acquire skills through experiencing the nuances of the Tamil Language. This holistic approach to teaching and learning of the Tamil Language prepares our students for Lifelong Learning!

உமறுப்புலவர் தமிழ்மொழி நிலையம் பாட வேளையின் போது தமிழ் வழங்காத உயர்நிலைப்பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்குத் தமிழ்மொழிப் பாடம் கற்பிக்கும் நிலையமாகவும் தேசிய வளமை நிலையமாகவும் இயங்கி வருகின்றது. தொடக்கப்பள்ளி முதல் தொடக்கக்கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுக்கான தமிழ்மொழி, பண்பாடு தொடர்பான நிகழ்வுகளைத் தேசிய நிலையில் ஏற்பாடு செய்தும் வருகின்றது. இந்நிகழ்வுகள் யாவும் அனுபவவழிக் கற்றலை முன்னிறுத்தி நடத்தப்பெறுகின்றன. மேலும், சிங்கப்பூர்ப் பள்ளிகளில் பயிலும் மாணவர்களுக்குத் தேசிய தமிழ்மொழி விருப்பப்பாடத் திட்டத்தையும் (NETP) இந்திய நிகழ்த்துகலை வகுப்புகளையும் (IPAP) நடத்திவருகின்றது. கற்றல் பயணங்கள் மூலம் இந்நிலையம் மூலிகை மருத்துவம், பாரம்பரிய விளையாட்டுகள், இந்திய இசைக்கருவிகள் முதலியவற்றை மாணவர்களுக்கு அறிமுகம் செய்கின்றது.மரபுசார்ந்த வாழ்வியல் அனுபவத்தைப் பெறுவதற்கும் தமிழ்மொழி, தமிழர் பண்பாடு முதலியவற்றில் விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுவதற்கும் வளமூட்டும் கற்றல் அனுபவமாக இந்நடவடிக்கைகள் நடத்தப்பெறுகின்றன. இந்நடவடிக்கைகள் மாணவர்களிடம் 21-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டுத் திறன்களை வளர்ப்பதற்கும் சிந்தனைத் திறன்களைப் பெருக்குவதற்கும் அறிவுத்திறனை ஆழப்படுத்துவதற்கும் உதவுகின்றன. ஆழ்நிலைக் கற்றலின்மூலம் தமிழ்மொழியையும் பண்பாட்டு நுட்பங்களையும் அனுபவத்தின்வழி அறிந்துகொள்ள வாய்ப்பளிக்கின்றது. இத்தகு முழுமையான கற்றல்-கற்பித்தல் அணுகுமுறை மாணவர்களை வாழ்நாள் கற்றலுக்குத் தயார்ப்படுத்துகின்றது.
